As a Senior Portrait photographer, I LOVE creating those special and memorable portraits that really show the best parts of each senior at this point in their lives. Fancy or casual, sports, music, dance, books...I want to capture ALL of those special facets of their personalities!

I’m the photographer for those seniors who might not believe they can look good in pictures, and I want to show them that they can! I want to listen to them and what they want, and I try to bring out their best, amazing selves!
I’m the photographer for those parents who want to preserve those last memories of their child’s high school years with stunning printed images that capture that senior’s unique personality and interests. I’m the photographer for those parents who have already chosen the spot on the wall where they’re planning to put that last, large beautiful portrait of their senior, one that captures their child's unique personality, one they will love to look at after that senior is away at college or out making their mark on the world.

I'm the photographer who tries to put something extra into every senior session, so I provide several complimentary Signature Edits with every Traditional Senior Session. Other photographers often charge a separate creative fee just for these special edits, but I include them at no extra charge with your session! Signature edits are artistic enhancements that make your images pop and give your images that WOW factor to make them stand out from everyone else's senior portraits. Every senior is unique, and their portraits should be too!

I've had many clients try something from my wardrobe for just a few images, and they end up loving those the most! If you want something quick for a different look, or even if you don't want to have to buy a new outfit to use for just a few hours, my Client Style wardrobe is PERFECT for you! Ask me more about it!

We have a few different session options depending on the type and length of session you're looking for:
The Traditional Senior Session
The most popular option, the Traditional Senior Session includes around 3 hours of session time, at multiple locations, with no limit to the number of looks or outfits that you can have! Props or pets are always welcome and encouraged (but sorry, no snakes!). We want to personalize your session to what YOU want, so we include a complimentary consultation prior to your session where we can talk about locations, clothing, and any special types of images or products that you’ll need, so we can plan for that ahead of time. Because each Traditional Senior Session includes some exclusive Signature Edits, we'll do some brainstorming during our consultation to plan those amazing images! Your album, wall art, prints, products and digital images are sold separately at your ordering session a couple of weeks after your senior shoot. At the ordering session, you’ll also choose your yearbook photo, which will be sent directly to your school, and you’ll receive a complimentary set of 8 wallets of that image. There are multiple investment levels for your session, and each level comes with a print/product credit that you can apply toward the purchase of your album, wall art, gift prints, or any of the other unique items I offer. The higher your initial investment, the higher the percentage of your investment that goes toward the print credit! Your session is FREE at the two highest Creative Fee levels, because all of your investment goes toward your print credit! Following are the available levels:

Optional Traditional Senior Session Add-Ons:
- Split your Session into two different days for an additional $75. This is a great alternative for different hairstyles or when you need that extra time to get ready for a special themed shoot, such as for sports or dance photos, or to accommodate a specific location. - Ask about Boomerang Sessions! Boomerangs are great for those seniors with a lot of interests who want to capture ALL of the moments of that special senior year!
- Not enough time? Add an hour onto your session for an additional $75.

Speedy Senior Session
The Speedy Senior Session is short and basic: one location around Cottage Grove, one outfit and up to 45 minutes of shooting time, and $250 in your choice of print/product/digital file credit for just $400. The Speedy Senior Session is only offered on select weekdays and does not include Signature Edits. As with the Traditional Senior Session, prints and products are sold separately at your ordering session a few weeks after your session, and you choose only the images you absolutely love.
How Will Your Traditional Senior Session Work?
- I'm always happy to meet with seniors and their parents before scheduling a session, so we can talk about what you want from your session and you can see samples of past images that I've created. I want to make sure that we're all comfortable with each other, because that's imperative to you having an amazing senior session!
- After that, when you decide you want to book, we'll schedule a day for your session (with a rain date, if necessary, for bad weather). We'll figure out one or more great locations, depending on the types of images you want.
- Depending on the type of look you want, we'll figure out the best time of day for your session. I have lighting equipment, so we're not strictly dependent on Mother Nature, and artificial lighting can also give us the opportunity to create some stunning images that just aren't possible with only natural light. We'll work together to figure out multiple outfits and also ways to include any important props or sports gear for different looks (I have a changing tent if you need it!).
- After your session, I will lightly edit all of your images for optimal color and cropping. I also provide custom artistic edits on a few images to show you the potential of what your images can be! Because I provide all of my senior clients with a LOT of images to choose from, this editing will take a few weeks to get your images looking their best.
- When the images are ready, we'll meet so you can view your images and select those that you want for your wall art and your album and gift prints, as well as selecting your yearbook photo. I show you ALL usable images rather than me choosing a limited number of images, because I think it's important that you see everything. I know from experience that you may see that intangible "something" in a smile or an expression that I could never notice myself! For a standard session, you can expect anywhere between 70 and 150 images in your preliminary gallery. Gift prints, wall art, albums and digital files are sold separately, but you select ONLY the images that you love. After that, you'll also have an online gallery of all of your selected images available to share with friends and family for a limited time after your ordering appointment.
- As a BONUS for all of my Seniors who are involved in extracurricular activities like sports, music, drama or dance, I always make an effort to cover one of their meets, games or performances. I think it's important to document those activities that are important to them, so I love providing this added service for all of my seniors, free of charge!

The Fine Print:
A non-refundable $200 retainer is due upon booking to reserve your session date. If heavy rain or severe weather is predicted for your date, we'll reschedule to make sure we can have a spectacular session. The creative fee includes: pre-shoot consultation, photographer's time during session, preparation of images for presentation, several special custom Signature Edits exclusive to Peg Thompson PhotoArt (n/a for Speedy Senior Session), one ordering session, full retouching of selected images, and print credit to be used at your ordering session. Also, exclusive to Peg Thompson PhotoArt, we will make every effort to provide complimentary coverage of one local extracurricular event that our seniors participate in during their senior year, because we believe that those memories are meant to be captured and preserved too! Prints and products are sold separately; you choose only the images that you like the best and only the print sizes or products that you want! A La Carte Wall art begins at $210 and A La Carte albums begin at $875. Mounted Gift Prints are as low as $30. Discounts and bonus items are available when you select multiple items to create your own collection. We accept cash, check, and major credit cards.
